Places To Visit

Explore must-visit tourist destinations, scenic spots, waterfalls, lakes, and nature retreats across Odisha.

Odisha packs an unusual range of landscapes into one state: a 480 km coastline on the Bay of Bengal, the forested Eastern Ghats in the south and west, and some of India's largest lakes and reservoirs. These guides cover the places that are worth planning a trip around, from Puri and Gopalpur beaches to Tampara and Ansupa lakes, Hirakud Dam near Sambalpur, the Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves and the Shanti Stupa on Dhauli hill in Bhubaneswar.

Each guide covers how to get there, entry fees and timings where they apply, the best season to visit and what to combine it with nearby. Winter (October to February) is the most comfortable time for most of the state, while waterfalls are at their fullest just after the monsoon. If you are planning a longer trip, start with the full list of waterfalls or the Koraput and Puri guides, then use the district guides to fill in the rest of your route.
