OSSSC Recruitment 2023 Place and Date of Written Test

The recruitment exam’s written test will take place in all districts. Eligible candidates will receive admission letters online, specifying the date, time, and venue of the written test. The letters will be issued from a specific date, to be announced later on the website.

The written test is expected to take place in May 2023, in all districts. It is recommended that candidates regularly check the Commission’s website for updates and notifications regarding the exam’s detailed program.

OSSSC Recruitment 2023 Admission Letter

The Commission will upload Provisional Admission letters on its website, www.osssc.gov.in, which will contain information regarding the date, time, and venue for the written test. The Commission will release these admission letters well in advance of the examination date.

To download their Admission Letter, each eligible applicant must use their User ID & Password to visit the Commission’s website and click the “Download Admission Letter” option under the Applicant Menu before the exam date. The Commission will advertise the exam date in the local newspaper to inform candidates.

OSSSC Recruitment 2023 Syllabus of Written Test

  1. English:
    • (i) Learn about verbs, tenses, modals, active and passive voice, and subject-verb agreement.
    • (ii) Understand different types of connectors, sentence structures, direct and indirect speech, and comparison.
    • (iii) Study articles, nouns, pronouns, and prepositions.
    • (iv) Practice comprehension skills by reading an unseen passage (400-450 words) and answering various questions.
  2. Odia:
    • (a) GRAMMAR
      • (i) Transform sentences from affirmative to negative, interrogative, exclamatory, simple, compound, and complex.
      • (ii) Change nouns to adjectives and vice versa.
      • (iii) Learn about sandhi and samasa.
      • (iv) Study antonyms and synonyms, correct common errors in words, and understand idioms and phrases.
      • (v) Explore taddhita and krudanta, and punctuation marks.
    • (b) COMPOSITION
      • (i) Translate from English to Odia in an objective type.
    • (c) COMPREHENSION OF AN UNSEEN PASSAGE
  3. Mathematics:
    • (i) Study the number system.
    • (ii) Learn about HCF and LCM.
    • (iii) Explore squares and square roots.

OSSSC Recruitment 2023 Results of Written Test and 1st Screening list for Practical Skill Test

For the post of Junior Assistant, a Provisional Master Merit List will be drawn district-wise, category-wise, and special category-wise based on the performance in the Written Test (marks secured/awarded). Similarly, for the post of Panchayat Executive Officer, a Provisional Master Merit List will be drawn based on the performance in the Written Test (marks secured/awarded) and extra marks awarded for work experience as Gram Rojagar Sevaks.

Candidates will be shortlisted or screened three times for the number of vacancies advertised, category-wise, and special category-wise, based on their performance in the Written Test (marks secured/awarded) and extra marks awarded for work experience as Gram Rojagar Sevaks. These shortlisted candidates will be called for the Practical Skill Test.

The District-wise Provisional Screening List of candidates will be drawn from the Provisional Master Merit List prepared based on the Written Test. Candidates who pass the screening will be allowed to participate in the Practical Skill Test.

Candidates who fail to appear or qualify in the Practical Skill Test will not be considered further in the recruitment process.

OSSSC Recruitment 2023 Practical Skill Test

  1. The Practical Skill Test will be for the purpose of qualification only.
  2. All candidates must score a minimum of 40% in the Practical Skill Test to qualify.
  3. The Practical Skill Test syllabus includes Basic Computer Skills such as MS Windows, MS Office, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.

2nd Screening List and Document Verification

Candidates who pass the Practical Skill test will be shortlisted/screened at 125% of the number of vacancies advertised, categorized/specialized, and ranked based on their performance in the written test/experience as Gram Rojagar Sevaks. They will then be invited for document verification.

The Commission does not verify any original documents for admission to the examination. Candidates will be provisionally admitted to the exam based on the information they submit in their online application along with a declaration.

The shortlisted candidates’ original documents will be verified/validated by the respective Collectors concerning their bio-data and application for validation of candidature before the issuance of appointment orders. As a result, the applicant’s candidature will remain provisional until validated by the appointing authority.

OSSSC Recruitment 2023 Results

The Commission will publish provisional results district-wise on their website, www.osssc.gov.in, in due course. However, the results will only be considered provisional until the requisitioning authority/appointing authority accepts the candidate’s candidature.
