This was a long pending demand from Berhampur citizens to start flight service from Berhampur Rangeilunda airport. The commercial operations have started from 12th March 2023 and ticket booking is open offline.

In the first phase, a 10-seater flight from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur will run. The maiden flight on 5th March was an unscheduled flight which was sponsored by the Government of Odisha. Inaugurating the flight service the Chief Minister said: The flight service will connect Berhampur with Bhubaneswar & accelerate economic activity.

The operator of this flight service is India One Air which is currently running active flight services in Jeypore, Rourkela, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Coochbehar.

The new airport in Berhampur is expected to boost tourism activity and create numerous job opportunities in the Ganjam district.

Bhubaneswar to Berhampur Flight Cancellation policy

Passengers are allowed to make changes or cancellations to their bookings at least one (1) hour prior to the scheduled departure time. A cancellation fee will be deducted from the total fare, which includes the base fare and fuel surcharge.

The remaining balance will be refunded to the passengers, except for the convenience fee and any special service requests such as prepaid baggage, seat selection, and special meals. In the case of a change, the cancellation fee will be applied to the passenger’s new booking.

Although in the initial phases, the flight service will be to Bhubaneswar from Berhampur, it is expected that there will be direct flight services between Hyderabad -Rangeilunda and Bangalore – Rangeilunda in future.

The flight from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur had mixed reactions from Odisha citizens as many people pointed out that it will be quicker to drive from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur rather than take a flight from Bhubaneswar to Rangeilunda.
