The railway minister also mentioned plans to connect the Lingaraj Temple Road station with Bhubaneswar airport using battery-operated or hydrogen-powered vehicles and launching a shuttle service, Vande Metro, between cities separated by 50 to 60 km next year.
The majority of the allocation will go towards development in west and south Odisha districts, including the Khurda road-Balangir project with a budget of Rs 1,599 crore.
